12/13/2008 5:58:10 AM Daily Journal Lois Combs WEST POINT - Lois Bailey Combs, 99, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, at Dugan Memorial Home in West Point. She was born Jan. 5, 1909, in Artesia to Nellie Kate Perry and John H. Bailey. She was a retired Librarian at West Point High School, where she worked for 20 years. She was a member of the Artesia United Methodist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Artesia United Methodist Church with the Rev. Nancy Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in Knights of Pythian Cemetery in Artesia. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include one brother, William H. Bailey (Sue) of West Point; one sister-in-law, Juanita Bailey of Booneville; one nephew, Eugene Bailey of West Point; three nieces, Beverly Abrams of Brooksville, Judy Owens of Artesia and Sandra Clem of Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Combs, and two brothers, Eugene H. Bailey and John H. Bailey. Pallbearers will be Eugene Bailey, George Neal Abrams, Bobby Pritchard, Robbie Robinson, Dick Honsinger and James Pace. Honorary pallbearers will be her fellow church members and friends.
